Todd Akin’s wife compares his career stumbles to getting raped

by Jennifer Kesler on September 18, 2012

I just throw up my hands at this point, and maybe my lunch, too.

“Party bosses dictating who is allowed to advance through the party and make all the decisions—it’s just like 1776 in that way,” [she said].

She cited colonists who “rose up and said, ‘Not in my home, you don’t come and rape my daughters and my … wife. But that is where we are again.

Yes, according to Todd Akin’s wife, failing to advance in your career due to your own extreme ignorance and indiscretion is just like being raped by soldiers. And people who stand up and say “Even if I destroy the party, you must promote me!” are exactly like American patriots, refusing to take the king’s crap anymore. What? It’s exactly the same!!!11~!

So the next time your boss passes you over for promotion, stand up and look her or him in the eye and say, “No, you are not coming into my house and raping my women!” And before you do it, phone me up so I can bring some friends and some popcorn, because what happens to you afterwards is going to be hilarious.

I just have no words. I turn the rest of the commentary over to you guys.

SunlessNick,

OMG, that’s awesome, and so, so right. Rape is like sexy funtimes! But your donut shop not having the chocolate donuts with the coconut sprinkles is like getting raped… but not in the sexy funtimes sense. It’s very confusing! ;)

It’s honestly disturbing to me how readily people use rape as an analogy in completely inappropriate ways. It reinforces the belief I have that many people do not know what rape actually is.
