Rodgers from L&O should get her own show
By the year 2038, I predict there will be 17 Law & Order spin-offs. By then, the intro music will be so remixed it’ll sound like Philip Glass. One very short-lived variation will be Law & Order: Donut Guy, about the guy who runs the donut shop frequented by the show’s cops and solves crimes on the side by using powdered sugar to dust for prints.
Can’t one of these variations - just one - be a show starring Rodgers (Leslie Hendrix), the really cool medical examiner who’s been with the franchise for 15 years? Go watch Da Vinci’s Inquest. It could work.

Law and Order is gradually exploring all the facets of law and crime: a forensic show would be another step down that road. Using the split narrative technique of the original series, it could have a forensic and cop half, which would differentiate it from CSI (and make it more realistic, as the forensics people wouldn’t be doing things the cops should be doing) - or possibly a field half and lab half (which could also serve to avoid characters crossing expertises).
And that’s even before we get to how cool Dr Rogers is, and how scenes with her are often the highlight of the episode she appears in.
So, indeed, I agree.
