The main focus of the entire cast’s lives should not be the OTP getting together
There’s a difference between making the “OTP Destiny” the center of your story and making it the center of every character’s existence. Please try to avoid the latter. You can do this by presenting some characters as match-makers but others as oblivious to the potential pairing, or even opposed to it. In real life it’s very rare, and slightly creepy, when people make someone else’s possible romance the center of their own existence. It’s called “living vicariously” and it’s not romantic; it’s weird.
Also, please stop making it the main focus of the woman in the potential pairing’s existence. For that matter, don’t make it the man’s only gig in life either. People who have nothing on their minds but a potential love affair are not operating with a full set of tools, and audiences are hip to this now. Even if the romance IS the story, let there be some allusions to people having other stuff going on in their lives offscreen.
