This page lists politicians and self-appointed “moral leaders” who have been caught failing to live up to the standards they set for others. If you know of someone missing from the list, please leave a comment (or email us) the person’s name, position they’re best known for, and a link or two describing what they did wrong and how it makes them a hypocrite.
- Dennis Hastert – Republican former House speaker claimed that gay marriage would lead to child molestation: ““We will not allow them to put our children’s future at risk because of their agenda for political correctness.” But it turns out Hastert has been blackmailed by a student who alleges Hastert sexually molested him when he was Haster’s student, and another man has made similar allegations to law enforcement. Hastert has a second victim who died of AIDS in 1995.
- Josh Duggar – worked for the anti-gay Family Research Council hate group which blames gays for molesting kids (“It is a homosexual problem“). But in 2015, Josh finally admitted to the rumors that had been circulating the net since 2006: he molested four of his sisters when he was 14-15, and one other unnamed minor. All his victims were younger than he, and some must have been pre-pubescent. His father, former Arkansas state representative Jim Bob Duggar, took him to a state trooper for a stern lecture, but made it sound like the molestation was a one-time event. The trooper, is now in jail for 56 years for possession of child pornography, gave Josh a lecture instead of prosecuting him, and now says he would have reported it if Josh’s father had been more honest. In 2007, Josh sued the Arkansas Department of Health and Human Services for daring to attempt to do its job and investigate the Duggar home. There’s probably more of this story yet to be revealed.
- Bill O’Reilly – conservative “news” caster lost custody of his kids because one of them claims she witnessed him drag her mother down stairs. After they separated and the mother started dating a cop, he also used his influence to get the cop investigated by internal affairs, thus wasting a lot of police resources just to get at his wife for leaving him.
